Meesho Seller Registration: Zero Commission, Minimal Paperwork, and We Handle the Setup
Five minutes. That is how long Meesho seller registration takes when your documents are in order. No video KYC. No waiting days for verification. No mandatory GST requirement. Among Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho, this is the fastest and simplest marketplace to start selling on.
So why do sellers still get stuck?
Because registration is the easy part. What comes after is where sellers lose time: figuring out how to structure their catalogs, choosing the right product categories, uploading images that meet Meesho’s quality thresholds, and writing titles that actually show up in buyer searches. That is where we come in.
The Subtext handles your complete Meesho seller registration and launch. We set up your supplier panel account, configure your store profile, upload your first catalogs with search-optimized listings, and make sure your products are visible to Meesho’s 187 million+ active buyers from day one.
What Our Meesho Registration Service Includes

- GST or Enrollment ID (EID) configuration based on your eligibility

- Category mapping to place your products where buyers actually search

What You Bring to the Table

- A bank account (savings or current) for payment deposits
- A pickup address where Meesho’s logistics partner can collect orders
- Product photos and basic product information for your first catalogs
That is it. Meesho’s entry requirements are lower than Amazon or Flipkart. If you have a PAN card and products to sell, you can be live today.
Why Sellers Choose Meesho Over Amazon and Flipkart
Meesho is not trying to be Amazon or Flipkart. It occupies a completely different space in Indian ecommerce, and that difference is exactly why it works for a specific type of seller.
Zero commission. This is the headline, and it is real. Meesho does not take a percentage of your selling price. On Amazon, commission runs 5% to 25% depending on category. Flipkart charges 3% to 25%. Meesho charges zero. You keep 100% of your sale price. The only deductions are shipping fees (charged by Meesho’s logistics partner based on weight and distance, with 18% GST) and payment processing costs. For sellers working with thin margins, especially in fashion and home categories, this is the difference between a profitable business and one that barely breaks even.
No GST? You can still sell. Amazon requires GST for almost every category. Flipkart requires GST from every seller, no exceptions. Meesho lets you sell without GST by using an Enrollment ID (EID). You generate the EID during registration using just your PAN card, email, and address. This opens the platform to home-based sellers, small-town entrepreneurs, and anyone whose annual turnover is below the GST threshold. If you cross the threshold later, you can add GST to your existing account without re-registering.
Tier 2 and tier 3 buyers. Over 80% of Meesho’s orders come from smaller cities and towns. If your product is affordable fashion, ethnic wear, home decor, accessories, beauty, or daily essentials, this is where your buyer lives. Amazon and Flipkart are strong in metros. Meesho fills the gap.
7-day payment cycle. After an order is delivered, your earnings hit your bank account within 7 days. This applies to both prepaid and COD orders. For a seller shipping 50 to 100 orders a day, predictable weekly settlements keep cash flow stable.
Built-in logistics. You do not need to arrange shipping. Meesho’s logistics network (Valmo) picks up orders from your location and delivers them across 28,000+ pin codes. You pack the order, attach the shipping label from the supplier panel, and the delivery partner handles the rest.
How to Sell on Meesho Without GST
This is the question every new seller asks, and the answer is straightforward.
If your annual turnover is below Rs 40 lakhs (Rs 20 lakhs in special category states) and you only sell within your state, you are not legally required to have GST registration. Meesho accommodates this by offering an Enrollment ID (EID) as an alternative to GSTIN during registration.
Generating an EID is part of the Meesho registration flow. When the system asks for your GST details, you select the option “No, I do not have GST” and follow the prompts. You will need your PAN card number, email address, and complete business address. The system generates your EID, and you proceed with registration as normal.
There are two things to keep in mind. First, selling without GST limits you to intra-state orders. If a buyer from another state places an order, you will eventually need GST to stay compliant once your volume grows. Second, some product categories on Meesho still require GST regardless of turnover. Categories subject to GST regulations (most taxable goods) technically fall under mandatory registration for ecommerce sellers. Meesho is flexible here, but the legal position under Section 24(ix) of the CGST Act has not changed.
Our recommendation: start with EID if you do not have GST. Get your initial catalogs up, test your pricing, and see how orders flow. Once your business picks up and you are ready to scale, get GST registration through a CA. We can update your Meesho account from EID to GSTIN without creating a new seller profile.
Documents for Meesho Seller Registration
Meesho asks for fewer documents than any other Indian marketplace. Here is the complete list.
Document | With GST | Without GST (EID) |
PAN Card | Required | Required |
GSTIN | Required (active) | Not needed (EID generated instead) |
Bank Account | Savings or current | Savings or current |
Business Address | Auto-fetched from GST | Manually entered during EID creation |
Email Address | Required | Required |
Mobile Number | Required (OTP verified) | Required (OTP verified) |
Product Photos | Minimum 1000×1000 pixels, white background | Same requirements |
Notice what is missing: no trademark certificate, no brand authorization letter, no special category approvals. Meesho does not require brand registration to list products. You can list under the “Unbranded” option in any category. This is one of the reasons Meesho is the platform of choice for sellers who manufacture or source their own products without a formal brand identity.
Also notice: Meesho accepts savings accounts. Amazon and Flipkart prefer current accounts (and sometimes reject savings accounts during verification). On Meesho, as long as the name on the account matches your PAN, you are fine.

Meesho Seller Registration Process: Start to Finish
The registration flow on Meesho is the shortest of any Indian marketplace. Here is every step.
Go to supplier.meesho.com and tap “Start Selling.” Enter your mobile number. Meesho sends an OTP. Enter it. Add your email address and create a password. Your basic supplier panel account now exists.
Next comes the GST decision. Meesho asks: do you have GST? If yes, enter your GSTIN. The system auto-fetches your business name and address from the GST database. If no, select the EID option. Enter your PAN, email, and address. The system generates your Enrollment ID on the spot.
After that: bank details. Account number and IFSC code. Meesho verifies the account holder name against your PAN (for EID sellers) or your GST certificate (for GST sellers). The verification is electronic and usually instant.
Then: pickup address. This is the location where Meesho’s logistics partner will collect your packaged orders. It should be a real, serviceable address. Meesho delivers across 28,000+ pin codes, but your pickup location needs to be within their logistics network’s coverage.
Finally: store name. This appears on your product listings and order communications. Pick something that reflects your product range. “Fashion Hub Surat” tells a buyer something useful. “Seller12345” does not. You can request a store name change later through Meesho support, but it is easier to get it right at registration.
Account is live. You can log in to the Meesho supplier panel (or use the Meesho seller app on your phone) and start uploading catalogs.
Total time from start to live account: under 5 minutes if documents are ready.
The Meesho Supplier Panel: What You Get After Registration
Once your Meesho seller account is active, you manage everything through the supplier panel. This is your dashboard for listings, orders, payments, and store performance. You can access it through the web at supplier.meesho.com or through the Meesho seller app on Android.
Catalog management is where you spend most of your time. On Meesho, products are organized into catalogs. A catalog is a group of related products. If you sell 8 different kurtis in different colors, that is one catalog with 8 products. If you sell kurtis and also sell bed sheets, those are two separate catalogs. Meesho recommends uploading 5 to 7 catalogs in your first week to build initial visibility.
Orders show up in the panel as they come in. You confirm the order, pack the product, print and attach the shipping label (generated by the panel), and wait for the logistics partner to pick it up. Payment tracking is under the payments tab, where you can see settled amounts, pending settlements, and any deductions for returns or shipping.
Meesho Ads is also managed from the supplier panel. You set a daily budget, choose which catalogs to promote, and Meesho shows them to a wider audience. Ads are charged on a cost-per-click basis. This is currently available only to sellers with a regular GSTIN, not EID sellers.
Next Day Dispatch (NDD) is a program worth knowing about. If you enroll, you commit to shipping orders within one business day of receiving them. In return, your catalogs get priority placement on the Meesho homepage and in search results. For sellers who can handle the dispatch speed, NDD is the single biggest visibility boost available on the platform.
Meesho Seller Commission and Fees: The Real Numbers
“Zero commission” is Meesho’s headline claim. Here is what it actually means in practice, and what you do pay.
Fee Type | What You Pay |
Registration Fee | Rs 0 |
Commission (Referral Fee) | 0% across all categories |
Listing Fee | Rs 0 |
Shipping Fee | Charged per order. Based on parcel weight and delivery distance. Includes 18% GST. Deducted from your settlement. |
Payment Processing | Small percentage for payment gateway processing. Deducted from settlement. |
Return Costs | If a product is returned, the sale value is adjusted in your next settlement cycle. Reverse shipping is charged. |
Meesho Ads (Optional) | Cost-per-click model. You set the daily budget. Only available for GSTIN sellers. |
Cancellation Penalty | Meesho does not charge penalties for seller cancellations or late dispatches. However, high cancellation rates affect your catalog visibility. |
The math is simple. Your profit per order = selling price minus product cost minus shipping fee minus payment processing. There is no commission slice taken out. For a kurti priced at Rs 500 with a product cost of Rs 200 and a shipping fee of Rs 60, your profit is approximately Rs 230 to Rs 240 per order. On Amazon or Flipkart, the commission alone on a Rs 500 fashion item would be Rs 50 to Rs 125, shrinking that margin considerably.
This is why Meesho works particularly well for affordable products with tight margins. The zero-commission structure means you can price competitively without destroying your profitability.

Meesho vs Flipkart vs Amazon: Where Should You Sell?
This comparison comes up in every conversation with new sellers. The honest answer: it depends on what you sell and who you sell to.
Factor | Meesho | Flipkart | Amazon |
Commission | 0% | 3-25% | 5-25% |
GST Required | No (EID accepted) | Yes, mandatory | Yes, most categories |
Registration Time | Under 5 minutes | 1-2 days | 1-3 days |
Payment Cycle | 7 days post delivery | 7 days post dispatch | 7-14 days |
Primary Buyers | Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities | Pan-India, Tier 1-2 | Metro and Tier 1 |
Best Categories | Affordable fashion, ethnic wear, home, accessories | Fashion, electronics, home | Branded products, electronics, books |
Brand Registration | Not required | Required for branded products | Optional but recommended |
Logistics | Meesho handles (Valmo) | FBF / Smart / Self-Ship | FBA / Easy Ship / Self-Ship |
For affordable fashion, ethnic wear, home decor, and accessories targeted at price-conscious buyers in smaller cities, Meesho is the strongest channel. The zero commission structure and no-GST entry point make it ideal for sellers who are starting out or working with thin margins.
For branded or premium products targeting metro buyers, Amazon and Flipkart are stronger. They offer brand protection tools, advertising systems, and fulfillment networks designed for that segment.
Most sellers we work with eventually sell on two or three platforms. Starting on Meesho makes sense if your product and price point fit. We also handle Amazon and Flipkart seller registration, so expanding later is straightforward.
Mistakes New Meesho Sellers Make at Registration
Meesho registration is simple. The mistakes happen around it.
Bad product photos. Meesho requires images of at least 1000×1000 pixels with a white or clean background. Sellers who upload blurry phone photos, watermarked images, or supplier catalog shots get their catalogs rejected. Every rejected catalog is time lost. We prepare image specifications before upload.
Wrong category selection. Placing a saree under “Women’s Western Wear” instead of “Sarees” means it never shows up when a buyer filters by saree. Category mapping on Meesho is granular. We map every product to the correct category and sub-category during listing.
Pricing without understanding shipping costs. A seller lists a product at Rs 250 thinking their margin is Rs 100. Then shipping eats Rs 65, payment processing takes another small cut, and the margin is closer to Rs 80. Still viable, but not what they expected. We walk sellers through the actual unit economics before they finalize pricing.
Uploading one catalog and waiting. Meesho’s algorithm favors active sellers. Uploading 5 to 7 catalogs in your first week signals to the platform that you are serious. One catalog with 3 products will sit at the bottom of search results. Volume matters early.
Ignoring the EID to GST transition. Sellers who start with EID and scale past Rs 40 lakhs in turnover need to switch to GST. Some forget, some delay, and some do not realize the threshold applies. This is a compliance issue, not a Meesho issue, and it needs a CA. We flag it when we see a seller approaching the threshold.
Using the same images and titles across platforms. Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho have different search algorithms and different buyer behaviors. Copying your Amazon listing onto Meesho does not work. Meesho buyers search differently, use different keywords, and respond to different image styles. We build Meesho-specific listings.
What The Subtext Does for Meesho Sellers
We are an agency providing end-to-end digital marketing services. Our scope on Meesho is the marketplace setup and listing side. Here is what that covers and what it does not.

- Store profile, bank details, and pickup address verification
- Catalog creation with search-optimized titles, descriptions, and category mapping
- Product image review and specification guidance

We do not handle:

Clear scope. No confusion about where our work starts and where yours begins.
Thinking Beyond Meesho? We Register You Across Platforms.
Meesho is a strong starting point. Zero commission, low entry barrier, fast registration. But most sellers who do well on Meesho eventually want to expand to Amazon or Flipkart, where the buyer profile is different and the product range can stretch into higher price points.
The challenge is that Amazon and Flipkart have stricter registration requirements. GST is mandatory on both. Amazon may trigger video KYC. Flipkart needs brand approval for branded product listings. Each platform has its own document format, verification flow, and listing structure. What worked on Meesho does not copy over.
We handle multi-platform ecommerce registration. Same document review process, but each marketplace gets its own application, its own verification management, and its own set of listings built for that platform’s search behavior. No copy-pasting across marketplaces.
And if your products include packaged food, beauty, personal care, or household consumables, we also register sellers on quick commerce platforms: Zepto, Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and BigBasket.
The Easiest Marketplace to Join. The Hardest to Get Visibility On.
187 million buyers. Lakhs of sellers. Your catalogs need to stand out from the start. We set up your Meesho account and build listings that actually get found. Let’s talk.
Questions About Meesho Seller Registration
Q1: Can I sell on Meesho without GST?
Yes. Meesho allows sellers to register using an Enrollment ID (EID) instead of GSTIN. You need a PAN card, email, and address to generate the EID during registration. This option is designed for sellers with annual turnover below Rs 40 lakhs who sell within their state.
Q2: Does Meesho really charge zero commission?
Yes. Meesho does not charge a referral fee or commission on any product category. You pay only for shipping (based on weight and distance) and a small payment processing fee. Both are deducted from your settlement.
Q3: How long does Meesho seller registration take?
Under 5 minutes if your documents are ready. Account activation is usually instant. Catalog uploads and listings take additional time depending on how many products you have, which is where our service comes in.
Q4: What is the Meesho Supplier Panel?
The Supplier Panel is Meesho’s seller dashboard where you manage catalogs, orders, payments, and store settings. You access it at supplier.meesho.com or through the Meesho seller app on Android. Some older guides call it the Meesho Seller Hub or Meesho Seller Central. Same thing.
Q5: Do I need a brand or trademark to sell on Meesho?
No. You can list products under the “Unbranded” option. Brand registration is not required for any category on Meesho. This is different from Flipkart and Amazon, where branded products require brand approval.
Q6: Can I use a savings account for Meesho registration?
Yes. Unlike Amazon and Flipkart, which prefer current accounts, Meesho accepts savings accounts as long as the account holder name matches your PAN card.
Q7: What is the Meesho seller app?
The Meesho seller app (available on Android) is a mobile version of the Supplier Panel. You can manage orders, upload products, track payments, and handle returns from your phone. Registration can be done through the app or the web portal.
Q8: What happens when I cross the GST threshold while selling with EID?
You need to register for GST through a CA. Once you have your GSTIN, you update it in your Meesho seller account. You do not need to create a new account. We flag this transition when sellers approach the threshold.
Q9: Can I sell on Meesho and Amazon at the same time?
Yes. Most serious sellers we work with list on multiple platforms. We handle registration on Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho. The key is building platform-specific listings rather than copy-pasting the same content across all three.
Q10: What do you actually do after my Meesho account is set up?
We build your first catalogs. That means product titles written for Meesho search behavior, descriptions that cover what buyers look for, images reviewed against Meesho’s quality standards, and category mapping that puts your products where they belong. The goal is visibility from day one.
